1. Age and Occupation?
I will be turning 41 on 8/27/15 and I am a School Social Worker
2. How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I have been at CFB for 10 months (I think!)
3. Why do you CrossFit?
I do CrossFit because I absolutely love the challenges each time I go. I’m constantly amazed at what I have accomplished at the end of each class. I also love the variety of exercise (e.g.,strengthening, cardio, mobility, etc.), the support and guidance from the coaches, and the comradeship amongst the members. I can honestly say that of all the years I belonged to different gyms I never felt proud of myself after a class and that’s been a huge motivator for me.
4. What is your favorite movement?
Power clean is my favorite movement….probably because I feel that’s the movement I do best!
5. What is your least favorite movement?
Squat snatch or overhead squat would be my least favorite.
6. Do you follow a particular diet to fuel your training? Favorite foods?
I don’t follow a diet because I don’t feel they ever work in the long term. I just try my best to eat in moderation and try to eat a lot of fresh fruits/vegetables and healthy proteins (lean meat/poultry/fish). I have also been trying really hard to drink more water each day but it’s a challenge!
7. What are your short term goals?
Short term I would really like to be able to do a strict pull up
8. What are your long term goals?
My long term goals would be to become stronger, more lean, and have more mobility
9. What is your biggest achievement at CFB?
I have to say my biggest achievement at CFB thus far has been doing a rope climb! I recall that I was so excited when I did finally do it, that I forgot about my fear of heights (except for when it was time to get down the rope:)p Thus, I was really thankful that Hillary was my partner for this class and helped me get down!
10. If there was a WOD named after you, what would it be?
Thinking of a WOD named after me is really hard! I guess because what I really like and value about the CFB classes is the variety….my WOD would be called “The Sampler Platter”
