Rebecca had belonged to one gym or another for half her life and had considered herself active when she got on the CrossFit bandwagon. Initially, she would roll her eyes every time she heard a friend talk about CrossFit, and the WOD they just did, and talk about doing crazy things like stringing multiple pull ups together, climbing ropes, squatting their body weight, etc., and she thought “that’s crazy! Why would people want to do that?!” but in November 2010 she decided to give herself a month at CrossFit Bloomfield and see what the hype was all about, thinking she would do the month, then go back to spin class and the machines that she knew and thought she loved. Instead, 3 days into it, she canceled her gym membership and soon became one of those people she used to hate, that talked about all things CrossFit and couldn’t get enough of it.
Going into the box day in and day out, working hard, and achieving goals that she never thought she would, pull ups, rope climbs, lifting heavier then she ever had (and not getting bulky like so many women fear!), losing weight, getting stronger and improving her confidence, both in and out of the box, and gaining a whole new circle of friends are just a few things that kept her coming back and led her to getting her L1 certification in 2012.
In her spare time, Rebecca runs her own massage practice in Royal Oak, loves to travel, hang out with her 2 dogs, and try to convert all of her friends to a CrossFit and paleo lifestyle
